Hollywood Glamour

I've long wanted to recreate portraits in the style of George Hurrell and C.S. Bull. These men and others were emploed by the great movie studios to portray an image of beauty and glamour for the actors and actresses under contract to MGM, Warner Bros., R.K.O., etc. Spotlights, floodlights and reflectors were precisely placed. Large 8x10 studio view cameras were used and the resulting film sheets were hand-processed and meticulously retouched. Modern digital cameras and computer retouching makes this process easier, but the lighting still requires careful placement and exposures. My beautiful model Leslie was wonderfully patient as I worked to imitate this nearly forgotten style of portraiture.
